Membership FAQ's

Why is Membership important?
A large factor of our community’s growth and success has been the dependable support of our members. Our members, whom we consider ‘our family’, step up each year to ensure that our community can be welcoming, vibrant and available to everyone.

What is Partnership?
Based on the current number of member families, the cost to the BDHLS budget for every family is $3000. We are conscious of the fact that this is not within the budget of every family. The higher levels of membership, which we call Partnership, allow us to continue to offer the highest level of educational, religious and social programming, while making all this available to all, regardless of their ability to pay.

Can my family participate in BDHLS events if we are not members?
We encourage every family to become members of our vibrant Jewish community. However, BDHLS will continue to be a welcoming place for all who would like to join our programs and events, even if you cannot afford to become a member.

What are the benefits of being a member at BDHLS?
The greatest benefit is knowing that you are helping support our community and services.
In addition, BDHLS Membership Benefits include:
Complimentary High Holiday Seats for immediate family members • Discount on all BDHLS events and programs including Shabbat Dinners, Festivals, and more • Discount on hall rentals for your family events • Mishloach Manot Purim Gifts delivered to your home • Concierge assistance for family and lifecycle occasions • Belonging to an amazing Jewish community & building lifelong friendships.

What if my family is not in a financial position to afford membership?
BDHLS will always be committed to offering Jewish experiences to anyone in our community, regardless of their ability to pay for it. No one is turned away for lack of funds. If you cannot afford the full amount requested, please contact Rabbi Wolf for a confidential arrangement.

What are the dates of membership year?
The BDHLS membership year is September to August.

Are High Holiday services open to non-members?
While High Holidays seats are complimentary with membership, seats are also available for purchase for non-members.
